  • What are your opening hours?

We consult Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm, and Saturdays from 8am to 4pm.

Why should I choose your service?

We pride ourselves on helping you in two unique ways. First, we carefully select our clinical associates for their high level of clinical experience, advanced levels of training, genuine enthusiasm for their work and compassion. Second, we can help you choose from a range of practitioners, catering to your preferences for shorter-term practical counselling or longer-term therapy. We have a proven track record of connecting people with the right therapist.

How many sessions will I need?

Generally speaking there are two styles of counselling. Shorter-term practical interventions, and longer-term psychotherapy treatment. Shorter-term counselling generally takes around 4-12 sessions. It addresses issues for people who will benefit from having some new skills in thinking and behaving in more productive ways.

Longer-term psychotherapy is useful for people who have longstanding issues, and who want to change a part of their core personality or makeup. This sort of therapy can last 6 months or longer. It is useful for very longstanding issues with relationships, certain addictions and certain types of anxiety or predisposition to depression.

    How much does it cost?

Session prices begin at $160 and sessions go for just under 1 hour. Rebates are available with most private health funds if you choose to see a Registered or Clinical Psychologist. Medicare also offers rebates if your GP has provided you with a Medicare Better Outcomes for Mental Health referral. You can call us to find out more about this process or speak to your GP.

    Do I need a referral?

You do not need a referral to access our services. You can claim for Psychologist services from most private health funds – please check with your fund. If you wish to claim a rebate from Medicare you will need to get a special referral from your Doctor called a Mental Health care plan. (Please note that this care plan becomes a part of your medical record and may have implications if you choose to seek cover for income protection or life insurance in the future.)

How do I choose the right therapist?

We can guide you when you call, based on the sort of issues you are dealing with. We will try and offer you a therapist who has had success dealing with similar issues in the past.

Therapy is a very personal undertaking. While all of our therapists are highly experienced at making you feel at ease, should you decide that the fit is not right, you can discuss this with your therapist or contact us. We are glad to help you find someone that suits your personal style.
